Ad-Aware and Spybot – Search & Destroy are the only ones I can think of. They shouldn’t slow your computer significantly. There’s probably not much difference, just personal preference. I don’t think there’s any harm in multiple anti-spyware; it’s not an anti-virus program.

Ad aware is a 27mb download and Spybot is 35 mb download
It is good to run both programs on your computer because one program will pick up spyware the other one doesnt.
It is also important to check for spyware updates regularly to keep your programs up to date with the latest spyware out there.

I would say Ad-Aware and Spyware Doctor (don’t know anymore, sorry). IMO Ad-Aware is currently the best one, as it scans spyware, adware and malware…
I don’t know about other people, but my anti-spyware is not running the whole time, I just do some regular checkups every now and then. Therefore, I doubt you would have to worry about system resources. Also, these programs don’t take up much space on the hard drive (100mb max).
I don’t really see any pros or cons for using each one, I guess you should just try them and see what suits you best.
Finally, no it is not bad to have three anti-spyware programs on your computer.

You do not need 3. It is not a bad idea to use 2, especially if one is just a scanner and not running real-time protection. I use AVG free anti-spyware which runs real-time for 30 days, then drops back to scanner only, you can manually update it and scan with it at intervals, then I use the free Spyware doctor starter edition from Google updater as it does provide real-time protection, although the pay version has more real time services. This does keep the machine clean, I have hundreds of customers using this combination along with AVG free anti-virus.

I actually recommend having 3 different programs installed, as they all do different things well:
1. Spyware Terminator http://www.spywareterminator.com/ (real-time, turn off web security guard)
2. Superantispyware http://www.superantispyware.com/ (no realtime; for scanning)
3. Spybot Search&Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/ (one of the first programs, so scanning not great; use immunise feature)
